Hotel Rates Increase.


Downtown Los Angeles Downtown Los Angeles is the central business district of Los Angeles, California, located close to the geographic center of the metropolitan area. The sprawling, multi-centered megacity is such that its downtown core is often considered just another district like Hollywood or  hotel operators pushed the average price per room up nearly 15 percent in July compared with the year-ago period.

Although occupancy at downtown hotels dropped to 64 percent in July from 73 percent during the same month of 1999, the average price per room increased to $114.94 per night from $100.31, according to according to
