Responding to customer feedback, InstantGlaze II is a lower-viscosity, softer material that squeezes down during application to increase contact surface with the window, while offering the same green strength, reduced hold times and increased efficiency of InstantGlaze I, according to the manufacturer. The softer texture of InstantGlaze II is also said to increase elasticity and elastic recovery performance, passing tests to meet the newly instituted Dade County, FL, hurricane standards. Both InstantGlaze I and II sealants and their vertical application technology are said to allow manufacturers to produce high quality windows and doors that increase productivity up to 33% over tape glazing. Vertical glazing eliminates the need to raise and lower the product for traditional horizontal glazing application methods, saving time and labor, according to the company.
