Hot competition.

Designboom has been around for a while at www.designboom.com and you can get a free monthly version, Inside View, emailed to you. The issue I have been looking at has a piece on Zaha, the Yokohama triennale, the Tokyo Designboom Mart, details of a number of competitions (Designboom itself has given $150 000 in prizes over the last couple of years) plus reviews of current shows, shops, architects. It is one of those wonderfully promiscuous sites in the sense of not being overly discriminating--except in terms of design quality. It is interesting too in the way that it handles sponsorship. The newsletter is sponsored by DuPont but you wouldn't necessarily know that unless you went searching. Running websites of this level of vigour and breadth is not something you do in the evening on the kitchen table after stealing the kids' lunch money.
