Hospice light up a life.

Paying tribute Some of the people who gathered to remember their loved ones THOUSANDS of lights were lit last night in memory of lost loved ones.

The Light Up A Life appeal is run by Kirkwood Hospice Kirkwood Hospice is a hospice situated in the English town of Huddersfield, providing care for the terminally ill. It is situated in the suburb of Dalton and is dependent on private donations and charitable gifts. , in Dalton, for people to remember lost friends and family.

In the past few months people have been able to buy the candlelights to signify sig·ni·fy  
v. sig·ni·fied, sig·ni·fy·ing, sig·ni·fies

2. To make known, as with a sign or word: signify one's intent.
 a special person gone but not forgotten.

And the annual event at the hospice once again proved to be a poignant and emotional affair.

Susan Marsden, of the hospice, said: "The ceremony is always a very moving one.

"It is a great chance for people to remember their loved ones at this special time of year."
