technology, today announced the release of the Horus Vision System 5, an extreme-distance targeting system for military, police, and sport field shooters. A five-part system comprising reticle, scope, spotting scope A spotting scope is a portable telescope, optimized for the observation of terrestrial objects. The magnification of a spotting scope is typically on the order of 20X to 60X. , targeting software, and CATS calibration calibration /cal·i·bra·tion/ (kal?i-bra´shun) determination of the accuracy of an instrument, usually by measurement of its variation from a standard, to ascertain necessary correction factors. , the Horus Vision System 5 is specifically designed to yield the highest probability of first-round target strikes at extreme range. Horus Vision is the only company to offer a complete shooting system.

Horus Vision was founded in 1997, when President Dennis Sammut turned his passion for precision shooting to the development of the Horus reticle, an advanced grid design that would ensure accuracy at any distance. Over years of field testing from outback to tundra tundra (tŭn`drə), treeless plains of N North America and N Eurasia, lying principally along the Arctic Circle, on the coasts and islands of the Arctic Ocean, and to the north of the coniferous forest belt. , Sammut came to realize the need for a system that would bring expert, repeatable accuracy to extreme distance shooters under the harshest environmental conditions. The result was the Horus Vision System 5. "Our goal was to make the expertise of the few available to all," explains Sammut. "Repeatable accuracy has always been the big idea driving our technology."

With the release of the Horus Vision System 5, the company has expanded its offering of patented reticles and shooting components to an end-to-end system, a move that distinguishes Horus Vision from conventional point-product manufacturers.
