Horse Racing: 100 GREATEST RIDES; My greatest ride Richard Hills on Haafhd in the 2004 2,000 Guineas.
The starting stalls were placed in the centre of the course, and it was the most extraordinary race in that the two pacemakers raced far apart. As a result, I decided to come up the middle to keep tabs on them both, and that definitely assisted our cause. Haafhd, the best miler I've ridden, had made all to win the Craven by five lengths, and I was anxious for a fast pace in the Guineas because my colt didn't have the turn of foot to match a few others in what proved a high-class Classic. It panned out to perfection.
