Horoscopes by Holiday for March 20

The fertility goddess Anaitis, presiding over the ancient Babylonian New Year, considered this time of year a marriage between heaven and Earth. For today's abundant Virgo moon, heaven is indeed here on Earth in the myriad ways we devote our spirits to the minutiae of our daily lives. And by integrating the two worlds, we find wholeness.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Be like an adult joining a child's play activity. Accept a make-believe situation as real. Otherwise, you remain an outsider. There's a great deal of pleasure to be gleaned from making a serious commitment to an alternate reality.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You'll come into contact with those you should have much in common with, and yet you seem hard to get to know. That you feel compelled to try is a testament to your ability and need to share love.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). A friendly message could come disguised as a reprimand. Policemen give warnings, parents offer tedious suggestions, teachers critique. You win by taking nothing personally and looking for the helpful truth in everything.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Reaching out when you don't have to (and when others don't seem to be) is extremely lucky for you. With your gestures of empathy, warmth and inclusion, you make an impersonal modern world very personal indeed.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). If your action causes someone to roll his or her eyes, walk away from that person, and stay away for a while. There are those in the world who believe that every little thing you do is magic. Find them.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Stop judging. You're more effective at just about everything when you turn off the inner nag who recently has been hung up on declaring what's good and bad about everything you come across. Take things as they are.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You're rebuilding a relationship — not as scary as it sounds. Yes, you must clear and level the ground before you can start. But you do it with love, and everything is fine.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). So, the logistics aren't perfect — not even close. Or maybe they are and you just don't know it yet. You create magic when you simply accept a situation for all its wonky reality.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Love lifts your energy, your optimism and your productivity. So find someone, something or someplace to be in love with. Once you do, nothing else seems very difficult.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You're now extremely aware of the spiritual nature of the material world. Look for the spiritual root of problems and figuring out how you can channel your energy to heal.

Capricorn, you dress to impress. My advice? Know your audience, but don't deviate from your style statement: classic. The dressing rooms of life are full of people trying on stuff for all the wrong reasons — wearing trendy pieces that portray a whim or fantasy that hardly suits the woman underneath. You seldom fall for such fashion traps, as you're drawn to pieces that radiate classic style — the reliable, form-fitting cut of a certain designer, the blazer you can count on to look snazzy over an oxford shirt, or a drapey silk blouse that's sexy but still neat. Your lucky fashion piece is the pinstriped suit. It's as hardworking as you are — its pieces are all interchangeable. Its professionalism is unmatched, while the playful pinstripes give "overly serious" the day off. CELEBRITY PROFILES: Rosie O'Donnell was born close to the cusp, yet she is unarguably an Aries. That form of integrity is uniquely Aries. Not to say the art of debate doesn't vex the ram. This year, Rosie might consider taking pointers from a Libra.
