To cause to slope, as by raising one end; incline: tilt a soup bowl; tilt a chair backward. 2. the spindle spindle: see spinning. A rotating shaft in a disk drive. In a fixed disk, the platters are attached to the spindle. In a removable disk, the spindle remains in the drive. Laptops use spindle designations to indicate the number of built-in drives. at an optimum angle for outstanding access to the machining point. The tilted spindle allows for the use of shorter tools to achieve high-efficiency machining, preventing the spindle and the tool from colliding with the table. Deep mold cavities and cooling holes can be machined in the same workplace set up, and slanted holes can be machined continuously at various angles without changing the setup.--Makino Select No. 003 at www.moderncasting.com/info [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] |
