Hooda pulls out all stops for son's pre- wedding bash.

IF YOU plan to visit Rohtak anytime this week, don't be surprised to see harried- looking people frantically cleaning windows, dusting up the streets or putting up innumerable strings of flowers.

Rohtak is being spruced up -- and for good reason. Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Chaudhary Bhupinder Singh Hooda (born September 15, 1947) is an Indian politician and the current Chief Minister of Haryana. His father ch.Ranbir Singh, was a member of the committee appointed to draft the Constitution of India.  is throwing a pre- wedding bash for his son, Deepinder, on Wednesday.

Sources said a gamut of government officers have been tasked to look after the arrangements. Top police officers, including some deputy commissioners, have also been running from pillar to post to ensure that the extravaganza goes off without a hitch.

The sources said the Hooda family expected over 20,000 guests for the gala event.

The Hooda government has also mobilised police personnel from various districts to " ensure the safety and convenience of the guests", the sources said.

The police would also set up metal detectors at the venue, where two additional superintendents of police ( SPs) and 12 deputy SPs will oversee the security arrangements.

The venue would have three separate parking lots meant for VVIPs, VIPs and the general public attending the event.

The traffic police have already diverted vehicles to other routes around the venue.

 -- an association of about 10,000 auto- rickshaw owners at Rohtak -- have decided not to ply their vehicles on Wednesday in view of the pre- wedding party.

Deepinder, a Congress MP, would tie the knot with Shweta Mirdha -- the granddaughter of Rajasthan leader Nathuram Mirdha. Shweta's father, Ram Prakash Mirdha, is a former minister.

The couple had got engaged in August last year in Delhi.
