Honour for Gulf airman.

AN AIRMAN who served in the Gulf has received a commendation in the Queen's Birthday honours list. Flt Sgt David James was rewarded for services to the RAF before the conflict.

The 34-year-old, originally from Bangor, also received high praise for his service in the Iraq war in a report from commanding officer TA Griffiths of his 2AE squadron - an aeromedical evacuation unit which transported injured soldiers away from the war zone.

The report,by Sq Leader Griffiths said Flt Sgt James had responded to the diverse challenges thrown up by the Iraq war.

His dad,Dewi James, of Glan Conwy, said the family was proud and delighted.
