Mex i·can-A·mer Bar Foundation event last week doled out Adj. 1. doled out - given out in portionsapportioned, dealt out, meted out, parceled out distributed - spread out or scattered about or divided up a record $75,000 in scholarships to 15 students of Latino heritage. O'Melveny & Myers LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol , Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Cedar Sinai Medical Center and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, which donated $15,000, sponsored the Beverly Hilton event. Dr. Cynthia Ann Telles of UCLA's Neuropyschiatric Institute, Counsel to Mayor Villaraigosa, Thomas A. Saenz and U.S. Representative Hilda Soils (D-Ca.) also were honored. The size and scope of this year's awards represents some impressive growth for the fund. In 1998, the foundation awarded a total of $6,000 to six students attending Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. area law schools, and last year it handed out $40,000 to thirteen students.
