Hong Kong International Airport and Chicago O'Hare Airport to become sister airports.
Airport Authority Hong Kong The Airport Authority Hong Kong (abbreviated as AA or AAHK) (Traditional Chinese: 香港機場管理局 (AA) today announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a legal document describing a bilateral or multilateral agreement between parties. It expresses a convergence of will between the parties, indicating an intended common line of action and may not imply a legal commitment. (MOU) with Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA)
Under the terms of the MOU Hong Kong International Airport Hong Kong International Airport (IATA: HKG, ICAO: VHHH) is the main airport in Hong Kong. It is colloquially known as Chek Lap Kok Airport, due to the fact that it was built on the island of Chek Lap Kok by land reclamation. (HKIA) and O'Hare International Airport will become sister airports.
The agreement outlines a range of areas of cooperation to build a strong and mutually beneficial relationship between the two airports in all aspects of aviation and related business.
Currently there are 14 passenger and 40 cargo flights a week between the two airports with Cathay Pacific indicating plans to begin a non-stop daily flight to Chicago in September this year.
