House bricks were thrown through the windows of three houses in Hemlington Hemlington is a settlement within the town of Middlesbrough, in the borough of Middlesbrough and the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. The attacks happened between 5.05pm and 5.15pm on Monday and police believe the same person or people were responsible.

Half of a house brick narrowly missed a chair where one of the pensioners sits in her living room.

A woman whose window was smashed and who wanted to remain anonymous said she didn't feel comfortable in the area anymore.

The estate backs onto a playing field and last night groups of youngsters were gathered playing or chatting.

Hemlington Ward officer, PC Brian Hughff, said: "As a result of these incidents we will be stepping up patrols in and around the estate, particularly in the lead-up to Halloween and Bonfire Night."
