Homebrewers conference underway.The 14th annual American Homebrewers Association The American Homebrewers Association is a division of the Brewers Association focused on homebrewers of beer, cider, and mead. The AHA was founded in 1978 by Charlie Papazian in Boulder, Colorado. National Conference "Just Brew It!" began June 9 at the Marc Plaza Hotel The Plaza Hotel in New York City is a landmark 19-story luxury hotel with a height of 250 feet (76 m) and length of 400 feet that (122 m) occupies the west side of Grand Army Plaza, from which it derives its name, and extends along Central Park South in Manhattan. in Milwaukee, where more than 400 homebrewers and beer lovers arrived for the five-day-long conference.Included in the conference agenda was the second round judging of beers entered in the National Homebrew Competition. The yearly event began in April with judging of almost 2,400 beers in the first round at four regional judging sites. Early in May, 300 of those beers judged were selected to move on to second round. The best-of-show or final round of judging took place June 11.
