Homebrewers conference underway.

The 14th annual American Homebrewers Association National Conference "Just Brew It!" began June 9 at the Marc Plaza Hotel in Milwaukee, where more than 400 homebrewers and beer lovers arrived for the five-day-long conference.

Included in the conference agenda was the second round judging of beers entered in the National Homebrew Competition. The yearly event began in April with judging of almost 2,400 beers in the first round at four regional judging sites. Early in May, 300 of those beers judged were selected to move on to second round. The best-of-show or final round of judging took place June 11.

"The opportunity for homebrewers to learn about brewing is boundless at this conference," said AHA vice president Karen Barela. "Our list of speakers includes the best known authors and brewers in the country. If you want brewing information, or if you have a specific question, this is the place to get the answer. "
