Todays' Internet Banker

HomeCom Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ SmallCap: HCOM), a provider of Internet software solutions for the financial services industry, announced that its already successful Personal Internet Banker (PIB) has been upgraded to include several new online banking functions. These include Recurring Transfers and Payments, Check Imaging, Check Stop Payments and E-mail notifications to name a few. In addition to the enhanced functionality, PIB offers newly designed screens for easier access and a more streamline approach to home banking.

PIB, an Internet solution that provides a secure environment for a financial institutions' customers to have access to their accounts and money 24 hours-a-day, can be customized to meet any financial institutions home banking needs. The new screen designs are contemporary, easy-to-read and navigate, and can include personalized stock ticker symbols scrolling across the screen that are automatically updated on the quarter hour.

According to Ken Bozzi, HomeCom's vice president, the enhancements that have been added are a logical extension to the core services already provided by PIB. "We listened to our customers needs about what transactions are most widely asked for [and used] in an Internet banking application and included those in PIB version 3.0. We want to make PIB the most complete Internet banking application on the market."

With PIB version 3.0 Internet banking customers can view an online image of a cleared check, stop payment of a check, receive maturity notices on certificates of deposits or other accounts, receive a secured notification if an account balance falls below a pre-specified limit or if a specific check cleared and set up recurring payments or transfers to predefined accounts such a monthly bill or savings account.

Kokomo, Indiana-based Solidarity Federal Credit Union, with more than 25,000 members, will officially launch its Internet Banking site, HomeCourt Advantage, on February 25, 2000. Kathy McKenna, vice president of Data Processing, said, "We are looking forward to the launch of our new Internet Banking site, HomeCourt Advantage. Before we selected HomeCom's Personal Internet Banker, we reviewed several application providers. Two of them were eliminated very quickly, and after a thorough review, HomeCom was the clear winner. HomeCom's pricing structure is very conducive, and feature for feature PIB offered the services Solidarity wanted to provide its membership with easy-to-follow screens.

Solidarity initially sent out a dozen or so emails announcing the test HomeCourt Advantage, and to date have had more than 550 responses. "The response we have gotten to the HomeCourt Advantage is very positive," McKenna continued. "Members want to learn how they can become Internet banking users and take advantage of the online service. We expect Internet banking to be a very successful at Solidarity."
