Home BancShares to join Russell 3000 and 2000 Indexes.

Home BancShares Inc. of Conway will be added to the Russell 3000 Index effective Sept. 29.

Membership in the Russell 3000, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in additional Russell Indexes such as the Russell 2000 Index and the Russell Microcap Index. Russell determines membership for its equity indexes primarily by objective, market capitalization rankings and style attributes.

"We are pleased to have been selected to join the Russell 3000 and 2000 Indexes," said John W. Allison, chairman and CEO. "It's a great compliment to our recent listing on NASDAQ, and it should stimulate wider interest among a broader investment community."

Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. Investment managers who oversee these funds purchase shares of member stocks according to that company's weighting in the particular index.
