Holstein Holstein, former duchy, N central Germany, the part of Schleswig-Holstein S of the Eider River. Kiel and Rendsburg were the chief cities. For a time part of the duchy of Saxony, Holstein was created (1111) a county of the Holy Roman Empire and was bestowed on Adolf of Schauenburg. Once an artists' colony, Brattleboro has become a sports center and resort town. There is light manufacturing., Vt., announces the addition of Angie Kennedy to its regional representative team. In her new position, Kennedy will serve dairy producers in Arizona, Southern California, and southern Nevada. She was previously a marketing representative for Sedona Ag Marketing in Visalia Visalia (vəsāl`yə), city (1990 pop. 75,636), seat of Tulare co., S central Calif., in the San Joaquin Valley; founded 1852, inc. 1874. Its economy is centered around agriculture (cotton, grapes, olives) and livestock. Electronic products are among the city's manufactures., Calif. Kennedy will be working from her home office in Visalia, Calif.
