Holstein Holstein, former duchy, N central Germany, the part of Schleswig-Holstein S of the Eider River. Kiel and Rendsburg were the chief cities. Once an artists' colony, Brattleboro has become a sports center and resort town. There is light manufacturing., Vt., hires Ben Church as communications and promotions specialist. In this role, he is responsible for all communications, public relations, and advertising efforts for the organization both in print and online. Church will also be editor of Holstein Association News, the official bimonthly newsletter.
