Christopher Allen Lloyd (born October 22, 1938) is a three-time Emmy Award-winning American character actor.
 and James Brolin will be among those participating in the First Annual Hollywood Film Festival.

The festival will screen 40 new films, including 12 world premieres.

"We are trying to bridge the gap between Hollywood professionals and the emerging independent filmmakers," said Carlos de Abreu, a producer who founded the festival with his wife, Janice Pennington, a hostess on "The Price is Right."

Producers Mike Medavoy and Rob Reiner are among the co-founders, and The New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 Times Co. and Northwest Airlines are the primary sponsors.

The festival will open Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the world premiere of director Francis Delia's "Time of Her Life." based on the Norman Mailer novel.

"There are a lot of film festivals for independent films, like the one in Sundance, but there was nothing in Hollywood," de Abreu said. "I thought it was finally time for one."

DeAbreu said the festival budget is $1 million, partially financed by him and the sponsors.

Alex Ben Block, editor of The Hollywood Reporter and one of the co-chairs, said he was participating in the event because "it's time for another strong international film festival in Los Angeles. This is the home of the worldwide global entertainment industry and anything that showcases what is new and innovative seems like a good idea."

Robert Fauft, the founder of the Independent Features Project, said he supports the idea of the festival, but would reserve judgment on whether this one would be a success.

"Anything that helps independent filmmakers I am up for," he said.
