Hollywood doesn't get it!

Rome -- The recent Hollywood Academy Awards' night showered Oscars on movies that not too many people care to see. Thus says Fr. Jonathan Morris, a Rome-based priest who offers an ethical perspective on current events for the Fox News Channel.

Characterising Hollywood elites as a "group of highly intelligent and wildly creative people ... steeped in a sick culture," Father Morris notes that, of the five movies nominated as Best Picture, the highest-rated in box-office sales attained to the rank of only 27th The best performers at the box-office, such as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, received only minimal nominations.

There has been a disconnect between Hollywood and American values for a very long time, he said. This year "it just became more obvious."
