Charitable organizations have found that holiday shopping for families in need requires a certain amount of communication. The charitable gifts that are given each year to families that have low incomes are actually purchased by strangers who do not know the family financial situation or the child on a personal level at all. In order to personalize the gift-giving holiday shopping trips, the families doing the gifting communicate to the child through a form which is filled out by a parent.

Some charitable organizations use forms to identify the sex of the child so that charitable gifts will be more personable. For families in this type of need, it is often hard for them to communicate in words the needs of the family at Christmas time. The charity will create a simple form that asks for the type of Christmas gifts that are on the child''s Christmas wish list and wait for the parents to reply. Several forms might be filled in but only a few will qualify because there was miscommunication about the age which children qualified for such generous gift giving.

Then the charitable organization will take all forms returned by parents and they will be used communication tools to speak with the public through written words. Some of those forms might have a story to tell about the child''s life, and interests. Some children might feel obligated to communicate why monies are hard to come by during the Christmas shopping season. Some might hope and pray for new toys anyway because they have not had a new one in years.

Since holiday shopping trips involve families it is a great possibility that many family member will see these heartfelt feelings at some point in the shopping period. The families will communicate the need to share and care about others who have less than they ever did under the Christmas tree during the holiday season. The families will communicate their feelings of love and affection when they see the paper angels that are posted on a tree with other Christmas Angels wishes at a shopping mall in town. The family will browse many angel figures and select a angel to bring home for the holidays.

A simple form filled in by a child at home, might represent a child''s first contact with somebody that cared about them with no strings attached. Some might have lived hard lives where no joy survived year-round because a grown-up at home expected a gift in return for the small gifts that would come at Christmas. With this simple communication of fact, some children are taken immediately from the home where they have lived all their lives. Those children will be sent to families who do all of the holiday shopping for families together and openly communicate their love to each other all the time.

While holiday shopping for families requires communication and patience, holiday shoppers are finding great joy in providing a needy child with many Christmas gifts. The long list of Christmas wishes will communicate the need for a bike, or the child might have the dream of owning games and a new nightgown that they can sleep warm and snug in each night. Through the act of charity and a communication of love and sharing, many children had a truly magical and exciting Christmas morning.
