I'd have ~would
 like to comment on the October October: see month.  Glad You Asked, "Is it OK to clap at Mass?" I totally disagree with Verb 1. disagree with - not be very easily digestible; "Spicy food disagrees with some people"
hurt - give trouble or pain to; "This exercise will hurt your back"
 your argument that applause is appropriate during Mass. It is just one more thing that makes the Mass less of a spiritual experience.
