This is the world's first--and to my knowledge, only--hip hop manga maNga is a popular Turkish nu metal/rapcore band. Their music is mainly a fusion of alternative metal and hip hop music, with a touch of Anatolian melodies; with heavy use of turntables, invoking comparisons with modern American nu metal bands. . It's set in L.A. with an ensemble cast An ensemble cast is a cast in which the principal performers are assigned roughly equal amounts of importance in a dramatic production.

@Large is a fast, enjoyable read with some very funny material; since I'm not a big hip hop fan, I didn't get all the jokes and references. Ahmed Hoke, the series' creator, is a graffiti artist with a style that is almost surreal, emphasizing facial expressions, the elongation and distortion of bodies, and sketchy to nonexistent non·ex·is·tence

 backgrounds. @Large contains violence, bad language, partial nudity and drug use (marijuana); many may find this manga's depiction of women distasteful. Seekers of role models or life lessons or Greek tragedies should look elsewhere. Keep in mind that this is the first book of a series, and should be purchased as such. Recommended for older readers.

A--Recommended for advanced students and adults. This code will help librarians and teachers working in high schools where there are honors and advanced placement students. This also will help extend KLIATT's usefulness in public libraries.
