Hoffmann: Arlequin Ballet; Overtures. Johannes Goritzki, Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss. CPO (Chief Privacy Officer) An individual who manages the privacy issues within an organization. A Man for All Seasons is a play by Robert Bolt. An early form of the play had been written for BBC Radio in 1954, but after Bolt's success with
. This disc features four of his lesser-known works. The first is a series of selections from Das Kreuz an der Ostsee (The Cross on the Baltic Sea) from 1805, a dark, heavy-handed, overly dramatic piece. The second, main item, is a half hour of short dance numbers from his ballet Arlequin, from 1808. They are quite animated, easily accessible, highly listenable lis·ten·a·ble  
adj.
Being such that listening is pleasurable: an undistinguished but listenable soundtrack.

. They are also the only numbers on the disc to be played in Hoffmann's own lifetime. The program is rounded out by two overtures, from Der Trank Trank!Ascii was a short-lived underground ASCII art group founded as a spinoff of Remorse ASCII, which was in-and-of itself part of the underground ANSI art group ACiD Productions.  der Unsterblichkeit (The Drink of Immortality) and Liebe und Eifersucht (Love and Jealousy), both entertaining in execution but quickly forgotten.

CPO's sound is variable, although it was recorded in the same location during the same four days in May, 1998. In the opening selection, the sound is somewhat dim and constricted con·strict

. Then, in the ballet it opens up considerably, spreading farther across and beyond the speakers and giving the appearance of greater clarity. Perhaps it's a case of the orchestration matching the tone of the music. Anyway, for its ballet music the disc has its considerable charms.
