. Here they have compared that capacity with the thinking of Heidegger, and they find striking similarities. They rely greatly on the qualities of Hobbema's pictures, drawing specific commentary from Hobbema's contexts (including daily life in The Netherlands in his time and the formation of his landscapes, painted and not), and move to Heidegger's thought on art, beauty and truth, including the place of the earth and the world (two different places), mistaken approaches to a work of art (as language, for example), and the complex process of seeking beauty and truth, whether in print or in paint. The resulting is as much an experience as a text.
