Produced originally for BBC 4 Radio, this audio consists of four episodes of the further adventures of that intrepid intergalactic hitchhiker, Arthur Dent. An eyewitness to Earth's destruction at the hands of the Vogons, Arthur stumbles here onto a truth that takes him by complete surprise: the Earth exists after all. He returns to England where he falls instantly in love with a woman named Fenchurch, to whom he senses a strange affinity. He pursues her and discovers that she also retains a memory of the planet's destruction, for which she's considered mad. And as if that isn't proof they are destined for each other, they have each separately come into mysterious possession of a luminous crystal bowl on which is engraved, "So long, and thanks for all the fish." Why? And does this have anything to do with the strange absence of dolphins from the Earth?. Dent, Fenchurch, and the usual madcap Hitchhiker suspects try to sort this out.
