your house to make way for a bypass would qualify as a bad day. For Englishman Arthur Dent Arthur Philip Dent is a fictional character, the hapless protagonist in the comic science fiction series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Dent's situation is reminiscent of the actual case of Edward Pilgrim, whose confrontation with British local , it's a lucky one, because despite his house being demolished, he will be the only human to escape vaporization vaporization, change of a liquid or solid substance to a gas or vapor. There is fundamentally no difference between the terms gas and vapor, but gas is used commonly to describe a substance that appears in the gaseous state under standard conditions of  when the Earth is destroyed to make way for a galactic bypass. His friend Ford Prefect is actually an alien who hitchhikes the galaxy for research, and he takes Arthur along.

To animate this backdrop of quirkiness, British actor and writer Fry has the perfect dry tones to deliver Adams' trademark humor. As Fry's pace steadily guides Arthur's progress through stranger and stranger worlds, ships and alien contacts, listeners will be equally baffled and amused. A cult classic, especially popular with many YAs. Julie Scordato, YA Libn., Columbus Met. Lib., Columbus, OH
