Hitachi Selects VividLogic FireBus Software for Its HDTV; Hitachi to Deploy VividLogic's FireBus Home Entertainment Infrastructure in Its HDTV Products.


FREMONT, Calif. -- VividLogic Inc., a leading provider of Digital Home Entertainment Infrastructure software based on IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, New York, www.ieee.org) A membership organization that includes engineers, scientists and students in electronics and allied fields.  1394 (a standard high-speed digital interface also known as Firewire(TM) & iLink(TM)), today announced that Hitachi will deploy VividLogic's premium FireBus(R) software to provide digital connectivity and interoperability in its HDTVs in the U.S. and Japan. Systems deployed with Firebus deliver full compliance with the open standards Specifications for hardware and software that are developed by a standards organization or a consortium involved in supporting a standard. Available to the public for developing compliant products, open standards imply "open systems;" that an existing component in a system can be replaced  developed and embraced by the Consumer Electronics industry in U.S. and Japan.

FireBus software, with its comprehensive set of protocols, will provide the Hitachi HDTV (High Definition TV) A set of digital television (DTV) standards that offer the highest resolution and sharpest picture. Although some HDTV sets are available in standard (rather square) screen sizes, the overwhelming majority of sets are wide screen, which eliminates  with the necessary infrastructure to: (a) intelligently connect and transfer digital content to one or more networked devices (STB See set-top box.

See D-VHS. , AVHDD) while simultaneously protecting the content from being illegally copied by using 5C content protection scheme, (b) provide DTV-Link(TM) compliant software for US and (c) ARIB ARIB Association of Radio Industries and Businesses  compliant software for Japanese HDTV.
