) - Hitachi's finger vein authentication system The combination of authentication server and authenticator, which may be separate devices or both reside in the same unit such as an access point or network access server. The authentication server contains a database of user names, passwords and policies, and the authenticator physically , in the form of an IC cash card, has been incorporated into Hyogo Shinkin Bank's security system.

The IC cash card has become the de facto standard Hardware or software that is widely used, but not endorsed by a standards organization. Contrast with de jure standard.

de facto standard - A widespread consensus on a particular product or protocol which has not been ratified by any official standards body, such as ISO,
 security system for its accurate authentication and high speed, compact data storage.
