) - Hitachi Ltd. today announced that it will release Videonet.tv, a high-definition movie server system for on-demand distribution, in Spring 2007. The server will distribute movies as requested by mobile TV handset The part of the telephone that contains the speaker and the microphone. On a desktop phone, the part you hold in your hand is the handset. On a cellphone, the entire phone is the handset. See multihandset cordless and headset.  users.

Videonet.tv boasts the industry's highest speed of 1500Mbps and utilizes a Storage Area Network (SAN) to handle massive content distribution. In addition, it enhances scalability by separating Real Time Streaming Protocol (multimedia, networking, protocol) Real Time Streaming Protocol - (RTSP) An application layer protocol for controlling delivery of a stream of real-time multimedia content. RTSP allows users to start playing from a certain position.  and Real Time Transport Protocol, enabling flexible scaling in and out.

Videonet.tv will be displayed at CEATEC CEATEC Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (Technology and Electronics Exhibition, Japan)  JAPAN 2006 from October 3-7.
