Hitachi Develops Highly Sensitive, High-speed Poisonous Chemical Detection System.

 Japan the company has developed a system that can detect in real time toxic gases listed in the Chemical Weapons Convention Noun 1. Chemical Weapons Convention - a global treaty banning the production or acquisition or stockpiling or transfer or use of chemical weapons  (sarin sarin (zärēn`), volatile liquid used as a nerve gas. It boils at 147°C; but evaporates quickly at room temperature; its vapor is colorless and odorless. , mustard, etc.) and nine types of chemicals (DC, DA, etc.) used in abandoned weapons while ensuring continuous operation.

To enable a fast, highly sensitive chemical detection in a prolonged operation, Hitachi has developed the system that ionizes chemicals in a target gas at an atmospheric pressure and measures the mass.

This system will be exhibited at the 11th International Beijing Conference and Exhibition on Instrumental Analysis to be held at Peking University from October 20.
