Hit the books with the looks: want to pull off those fabulous fall hair and makeup trends you see in magazines and on celebrities? Class is in session ...

THE TREND: MOD LINER

GET IT Don't sharpen your pencil for this look. Creamy liner is clean yet dramatic. Start with a flat brush with firm bristles, like Benefit's Hard Angle Brush ($14, benefitcosmetics.com). Dip the tip of the brush into a pot of gel eyeliner. Dab two tiny dots where you want the line to start and end. Close eye and pull lid gently under brow, then draw a line from the inner corner outward to match the dots.

GL TIP Want to get the hang of to learn the method or arrangement of; hence, to become accustomed to.

Pull hair only halfway through band on the second twist with the loop of the ponytail pointing down and tail ends up. Then take small sections, and twist and pin them down around the ponytail with bobby pins.

GL TIP For a special touch, add a jeweled butterfly comb or flower.

USE IT Damon gave texture to the end pieces of the ponytail with a soft wax. His favorites? Tigi Bed Head Stick, ($18, tigihaircare.com) and Bumble and bumble Sumo sumo: see wrestling.

THE TREND: BERRY LIPS

Using a round brush, lift hair at the roots and roll the brush down to the hair's end. Aim the blowdryer down, following the brush as it moves through your hair. Damon then ran a flat iron over each section before rubbing a few shine drops between his hands and smoothing each section especially the ends.

GL TIP A middle part updates last year's deep side part.

USE IT Damon used Sebastian Laminates Drops ($10, sebastianintl.com), Revlon Professional Jade Straightener ($45, hotus.com) and a Spornette Boar-Bristle Round Brush ($9, Sally Beauty stores) because it doesn't slip.

GL TIP For wow lashes, place the eyelash curler close to the base of lashes and give them a good squeeze. Then, work the curler out to the ends of lashes with a couple more squeezes.
