Hiroaki Nakanishi to Focus on Hitachi Global Storage Technologies; Tadahiko Ishigaki Succeeds Nakanishi as Chief Executive for North America.

:HIT) today announced that it has appointed Tadahiko Ishigaki as Chief Executive for North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  and Chairman of Hitachi America, Ltd., succeeding Hiroaki Nakanishi, who remains Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. . The appointments are effective on January 1, 2007.

In announcing the appointments, the company noted that the change will allow Mr. Nakanishi to devote his full energies to accelerating Hitachi Global Storage Technologies' revenue growth and profitability and broadening its push into new markets.

Hiroaki Nakanishi most recently served as executive vice president and executive officer, and chief executive for North America of Hitachi, Ltd., chairman of Hitachi America, Ltd. and chairman and chief executive officer of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies since February 2005. Effective January 1st, he will hold only the position of chairman and CEO of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. Tadahiko Ishigaki is senior vice president and executive officer, general manager of the Corporate Marketing Group, General Manager of Customer Satisfaction Promotion Center, and Corporate Export Regulation Division, Hitachi, Ltd., posts he has held since April 2006 and will continue to hold along with his new responsibilities. He previously was president & director, Hitachi Home & Life Solutions, Inc. and Vice General Manager of the Consumer Business Group, Hitachi, Ltd. since October, 2004. From 2002 to 2004 he served in a number of headquarters-based senior executive marketing positions for Hitachi, Ltd. From 1993 to 2001, he served in senior management roles for Hitachi's consumer electronics businesses, including executive positions at Hitachi Europe, Ltd. from 1993 to 1995. He joined Hitachi, Ltd. in 1968.

Mr. Ishigaki graduated from Faculty of Business and Commerce, Keio University Keio University (慶應義塾大学 Keiō gijuku daigaku .
