Hip-Hop Magnates Ray Benzino & Dave Mays Launch Club Zno on South Beach.
MIAMI BEACH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 2003
Star-Studded Grand Opening Weekend to Attract a Who's Who Crowd of Artists, Athletes, Film & TV Stars Upscale, Cutting-Edge Design for First True Home on the Beach for the Hip-Hop Generation
Celebrated hip-hop artist and entrepreneur Benzino, partner Dave Mays of The Source and resident businessman Peter Thomas, have announced the Grand Opening of Club Zno. An ultra-sexy, super-upscale club/lounge located in the heart of Miami's South Beach, the historic venue seamlessly blends contemporary style, a classy ambiance, and cutting-edge sounds that cater to the tastes of the many artists, athletes, models, and executives of the Hip-Hop Generation who frequent South Beach.
On Thursday night, February 27th, Club Zno will blast-off with a star-studded celebration hosted by Miami's hip-hop legend Luke, with performances by P Diddy and the Bad Boy Family. Friday, February 28th, Trick Daddy and Club Zno will host the official after-party for the LL Cool J/Fat Joe concert. Closing out the weekend, hip-hop's Queen Bee Lil' Kim will host Saturday night festivities, which will include DJ Clue on the wheels of steel and an exclusive performance by Benzino with special guest, actress/model LisaRaye.
"We wanted to establish a true home for hip-hop on the country's hottest playground for our generation--South Beach, Miami," explained Benzino. "Club Zno will be the premier hot spot for exclusive parties and events."
Mays added, "It's no secret that South Beach has become the most popular vacation destination for hip-hop celebrities and consumers alike. Club Zno will accommodate that growing circle of artists, athletes, execs and trend-setters who still don't have a place to call their own."
Located in the same space that once housed the legendary night club Liquid, Club Zno was designed by Avante Garde architect Carlos Zapata of Wood + Zapata, whose award-winning projects include The Albion Hotel South Beach. The beautiful, two-story space has been completely renovated with state-of-the-art audio and DJ systems, two exclusive VIP areas and modern boutique hotel-like decor. Club Zno boasts clean, polished earth-toned lines along its interior perimeter creating a warm, inviting mood. Mahogany wood floors run throughout the main room, highlighted by frosted glass with white backlighting that illuminates the bars and generates an intimate setting.
Peter Thomas, a veteran entrepreneur and one of the first African Americans to acquire real estate in trendy South Beach, partnered with Benzino and Mays on Club Zno's development. "Glamour left the beach and hip-hop is bringing it back," Thomas observed recently. "It's not about Dean Martin anymore. It's not even about Ricky Martin. It's about Missy Elliott, who is here damn near every week, but the city doesn't seem to know it."
Confirmed celebrities for Grand Opening weekend at Club Zno include Cash Money Millionaires, DJ Clue, Eve, George Clinton, Ja Rule, Jermaine Dupri, Lil' Kim, LisaRaye, Luke, Master P, Nelly, P Diddy, Trick Daddy, Trina and many more...
