THROW IT ON THE GRILLO! That seems to be the philosophy of the gay brigade behind Los Angeles's hip new eatery, the Lunch to Latenite Kitchen. They asked rocker Brian Grillo (inset)--who was an artist long before he helped form legendary punk group Fancy--to paint the diner's walls and tabletops. "It was fun creating a permanent environment for hipsters," says the singer. "We just said, `Hey, you go!' and it turned out wonderful," says Jeffrey Wylie, one of Kitchen's three out partners. Now patrons such as gay balladeer Rufus Wainwright down the likes of slow-roasted barbecue ribs off tabletops that Grillo plastered with blown-up sections of movie posters. Just whose lacquered lips are those? "Ann-Margret's, from A Streetcar Named Desire," he says proudly.
