Himont and International Multi Petrochemical Enterprises (Impel) have signed agreements forming an equallyowned marketing joint venture, Montpel Ltd., through which the partners will market certain polypropylene products, produced using Himont's technology. The partners will cooperate in the development of the domestic Chinese market and related international markets for polypropylene products by combining their marketing expertise and product knowledge. The joint marketing venture in China represents an expansion of the two partners' cooperative efforts, which began in March 1989 with the formation of the Himont-Impel joint venture involving the joint ownership and operation of a Himont polypropylene production facility in Lake Charles, LA.
