Hilgraeve Announces DropChute+ 1.1.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 1998--Hilgraeve Inc. today released DropChute+ Version 1.1, personal file delivery software that simplifies file exchange through firewalls, eases setup and expands virus protection. Thus it is an example of an embodied agent.  technology coming in Windows 98. Hilgraeve is at PC Expo A trade show for resellers, corporate managers and technical professionals from CMP Media LLC, a subsidiary of United Business Media. First held in New York in 1983 with 120 exhibitors and 9,600 attendees, the show grew from the personal computer's early years to 550 vendors and more than  in the Microsoft Partners Pavilion, Booth No. 2646-B23.

DropChute+ overcomes e-mail attachment A file that rides along with an e-mail message. The attached file can be of any type. E-mail programs make it easy to attach a file. For example, in Eudora, all you do is select Attach from the Message menu, browse through the folder hierarchy to find the file you want and then double  or ftp problems -- garbled files, slow/uncertain delivery, difficulties with large files, security. DropChute+ automatically connects to the PC directly, compresses and encrypts data, checks for viruses, and delivers files without stopping on mail or ftp servers Implementations of FTP servers (organized by the nature of the interface used to configure them) include: Graphical

DropChute+ 1.1 lets network administrators selectively allow outbound and/or inbound connections through all kinds of proxy servers, including direct connection, modified client or invisible proxy server. Users can update virus protection in DropChute+ by clicking a button.

Chat options in DropChute+ 1.1 exploit Windows 98 Microsoft Agent technology now for Windows 95 and NT 4.0 users. Users can choose animated characters -- a genie, sorcerer (tool) SORCERER - A simple tree parser generator by Terence Parr <parrt@s1.arc.umn.edu>.

The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  Internet connections, and eliminates entering IP addresses. An intuitive wizard helps users distribute free versions of DropChute+ to associates -- either a full-featured 60-day trial copy of DropChute+ or the smaller non-expiring DropChute version. The wizard lets users send the free program as an e-mail attachment with easy setup instructions; or lets them make diskettes and printed instructions.

Users can now choose the icon to represent themselves on others' desktops. Businesses can represent themselves with their logo on a client's PC; end users can personalize their icons.

DropChute+'s revolutionary Internet Rendezvous(tm) (patent pending) allows Internet users to connect without advance scheduling. Internet Rendezvous waits for calls, like fax software. Connecting requires only a phone number to instruct the other PC to rendezvous; in moments both hang up and automatically connect through the Internet.

Those with permanent Internet connections can use DropChute+ for secure, quick file exchanges outside internal networks. DropChute+ also eliminates e-mail attachment loads on mail servers within corporate networks.
