The 10th Annual Donner Party Donner Party, group of emigrants to California who in the winter of 1846–47 met with one of the most famous tragedies in Western history. A contemporary interpretation of the 1844 Stephens-Townsend-Murphy Party's trail has been added to a Saturday hike that is rich in emigrant and railroad history. Recent scientific analysis of emigrant diaries and accounts found geographic similarities that contradict the historically accepted route of this first successful emigrant group.
