Highway Holdings Granted Two U.S. Patents in Key Strategic Growth Areas of Clocks, Cameras.

Highway Holdings Limited (Nasdaq:HIHO) announced today it has been granted two patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office The United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO or USPTO) is an agency in the United States Department of Commerce that provides patent protection to inventors and businesses for their inventions, and trademark registration for product and intellectual property .

The first patent, U.S. Patent Number 6,466,517 B1, covers technology concerning the company's Global Clock. The unique LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) A display technology that uses rod-shaped molecules (liquid crystals) that flow like liquid and bend light. Unenergized, the crystals direct light through two polarizing filters, allowing a natural background color to show.  timepiece provides simultaneous analog and digital display of 24 time zones, which are divided into Work, Leisure and Sleep categories, along with a calendar week scheduler, all of which are designed to make the Global Clock a valued tool for world travelers.

The second patent, U.S. Patent Number 6,522,835 B2, covers Highway Holdings' Photographic Film Package with a detachable de·tach
