Ringling Museum of Art. Peter Paul Rubens: Impressions of a Master continues through June 3 in the Searing Wing. Art Center Sarasota. Vie Sum of Its Parts continues through July 21, offering photographs by Chris Jordan, an open all-media exhibition, works from the ACS/Sarasota Audubon collaboration, and more. 365-2032.

Selby Gallery. Modern architecture fans can view a retrospective of the career of Sarasota-based architect Carl Abbott, who studied with the late, great Paul Rudolph. Summer Circus Spectacular. The Ringling Museum and Circus Sarasota team up once more for this show aimed at children of all ages, with performances June 19 through July 28 (no show July 4). At the Historic Asolo Theater; call 360-7399.

Music

Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota. This years recital series wraps up with soprano Stella Zambalis, baritone David McFerrin and pianist Joseph Holt giving audiences an evening of Kurt Weill music, June 3 and 5 at the Historic Asolo Theater. 360-7399.

Sarasota Music Festival. I he Sarasota Opera House and Holley Hall are once more alive with the sounds of talented faculty and students playing classical music, with Sarasota Music Festival concerts set for June 7 and 8, June 14 and 15, and June 21 and 22. Also featured: lectures from fest artistic director Robert Levin, master classes and more. Among the cornucopia of composers whose work will be highlighted: Schumann, Ravel, Beethoven, Borodin, Elgar, Mozart, Dvorak and Debussy. Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix. The big boats are back, with the Grand Prix race in the Gulf July 1. Jericho. Jack Canforas new play about New Yorkers trying to move pasl the 9/11 tragedy ends its run on Florida Studio Theatres mainstage June 3. 366-9000.

Das BarbecLi. Florida Studio Theatre kicks off its summer season with this Jim Luigs-Scott Warrender musical spoof based on, of all things, Wagners Ring Cycle--only its delivered with a country-Western flavor. Playing June 13 through July 9 in the Keating Theatre. 366-9000.

Fanny Brice, America's Funny Girl. The life story of singer-comedienne Brice, especially as it relates to her Billy Rose years, continues through June 17 at Asolo Rep. 351-8000.

Reel Music. Hollywood movie music, from As Time Goes By to Flashdance, is recreated in this revue running through June 17 in FSTs Goldstein Cabaret. 366-9000.

Moonlight and Magnolias. Ron Hutchinson's comic look at what happens when writer Ben Hecht, director Victor Fleming and producer David O. Selznick hole up to produce the script for film classic Gone with the Wind. Continuing through July 1 at the Golden Apple Dinner Theatre. 366-5454.

Taffetas. In the mood for some girl group harmonies circa 1950s? Were talking the McGuire Sisters, the Chordettes, etc., with their songs interpreted by a fictional foursome making their national television debut. Onstage June 14-17 and again July 12-15 at the Players Theatre. 365-2494.

Terra Nova. This drama by Ted Tally is based on the amazing true story of the doomed South Pole exploration of Robert Scott in 1910; it takes to the stage June 21-24 and July 19-22 at the Players. 365-2494.

Love, Loss and What I Wore. Five actresses enact 28 comic/poignant vignettes related to specific and significant items of clothing in this off-Broadway hit penned by sisters Nora and Delia Ephron, running June 22 through July 15 at Asolo Rep. 351-8000.

A Lesson from Aloes. Athol Fugards award-winning play, set in 1963 in a white district of South Africa, opens the Banyan Theater Company's 11th summer season, with performances June 28 through July 15 at the Cook Theatre. 358-5330.

Lettice and Lovage. A Peter Shaffer comedy that was a hit for Dame Maggie Smith, who played a tour guide at a stately (but boring) old English home who livens up history with her own wildly improbable stories. Onstage June 28 through July 1 and again July 26-29 at the Players. 365-2494.
