Higher corn, soybean yields ahead?

Friday morning, Informa Economics Inc. reportedly estimated a 2007 national average corn yield of 158.1 bu. per acre; production of 13.506 billion bushels. (USDA's Sept. yield was 155.1 bu. per acre; crop of 13.308 billion bushels.)

Informa also reportedly put the national average bean yield at 42.1 bu. per acre and the bean crop at 2.647 billion bushels. That's up from USDA's Sept. estimate of 41.4 bu. per acre and production of 2.619 billion bushels.
