High-reactivity FR agent for PUR & PIR Foams. (Keeping up with Additives).A new higher-reactivity, brominated flame retardant Brominated flame retardants are produced synthetically in 70 variants with very varying chemical properties. There are several groups:
an organic compound containing two hydroxy groups, a dihydric alcohol. Called also glycol. that reportedly offers faster reaction rates, lower viscosity, and improved compatibility in water-blown foams. In many applications, a more reactive flame retardant is preferred to reduce cycle time and surface friability fri·a·ble adj. Readily crumbled; brittle: friable asbestos insulation. [Latin fri (to improve adhesion of the foam to facing sheets). Firemaster 520 reportedly reduces post-cure time and thus enables faster line speeds. Low viscosity and high reactivity are also needed for spray foams. Tel: (800) 428-7947, www.greatlakes.com |
