Dave Farber

A distinguished professor of telecommunications at the University of Pennsylvania (Computer and Information Science Department and Electrical Engineering Department), Farber is known for his cutting- edge research in high-speed networking and serves as director of the university's Distributed Computing Laboratory. Farber's early academic research work was focused at creating the world's first operational Distributed Computer System (DCS). He also helped conceive and organize CSNet, NSFNet and the NREN NREN - National Research and Education Network . He serves as a member of the Faculty Council of The SEI Center for Advanced Studies in Management at the Wharton School.

As a seasoned industry veteran, he spent 11 years at Bell Labs, where he helped design the first electronic switching system In telecommunications, an electronic switching system (ESS) is:

Doug Humphrey

Doug Humphrey founded Cidera Inc. (as SkyCache Inc.) in July 1997. Prior to Cidera, Humphrey founded DIGEX, a national Internet service provider that was acquired by Intermedia Communications in July 1997. During his tenure at DIGEX, Humphrey served as chief executive officer and chief technology officer from 1991 to 1997. An authority in the ISP satellite content broadcast arenas, Humphrey is a frequent speaker at Internet conferences.

Bill Manning

Manning is a well-known researcher staff at USC's Information Sciences Institute (ISI ISI International Sensitivity Index, see there ) and is a contributing scientist at CenterGate Research. He is well known for his expertise and accomplishments in the areas of network operations and naming systems.

While he was at Texas Instruments, Manning was responsible for the deployment of IP throughout the corporation. In academia, he was head engineer for the NSFnet's SESQUINET regional network and led its migration to commercial networks. At ISI, he was actively involved with NSF's Routing Arbiter project and is actively involved in IPv6 development.

Manning is highly active in the Internet Engineering Task Force (c/o Corporation for National Research Initiatives (CNRI), Reston, VA, www.ietf.org) Founded in 1986, the IETF is a non-membership, open, voluntary standards organization dedicated to identifying problems and opportunities in IP data networks and proposing technical solutions to the  (IETF), in particular the DNS and Routing working groups. Robert Scott

Scott currently serves as senior vice president and CIO of leading CLEC Mpower Communications, where he is responsible for leading the organization that creates the network infrastructure that supports a rapidly growing customer base and automates the company's business processes. Scott is also responsible for developing, building and deploying the company's Information Technology (IT) and Operating Support Systems (OSS), including provisioning and back-office systems, network management tools and process development.

Prior to Mpower, he was CTO at Logix, where he lead the IT organization and drove the company's Internet strategy, technology strategy and managed the entire network infrastructure. He also developed an Application Service Provider (ASP) company. Scott has gained extensive experience in Internet and data services and has a broad understanding of complex network infrastructures at companies including Johnson & Johnson, General Electric, RCA See RCA connector and video/TV history.  and ABC Television.
