An Ideal Solution to ISP's Access Problem

:TBTI) announced an affordable solution for SOHO Soho (sōhō`, sə–), district of Westminster, London, England, known for its continental restaurants. Once a fashionable quarter, it became popular among writers and artists in the 19th cent.  users who now have need of accessing high speed data services of either corporate networks or the Internet.

This capability is made possible by a new product just being introduced by Telebyte called the Model 683 HDSL See DSL.

HDSL - High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line
Super Router. The HDSL Super Router features a 10Base-T Ethernet port for connection to a LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  and an HDSL port for 768 KBPS full duplex data rates over a single twisted pair. The unit is compatible with PairGain(TM) equipment employed in Telco central offices.

For small office users who demand simple, high-speed data services to corporate networks or the Internet, the HDSL Super Router 683 is the ideal solution. The HDSL Super Router 683 features a 10Base-T Ethernet port for connection to a LAN, a network port for a High-data-rate Digital Subscriber Line See DSL.

(communications, protocol) Digital Subscriber Line - (DSL, or Digital Subscriber Loop, xDSL - see below) A family of digital telecommunications protocols designed to allow high speed data communication over the existing copper telephone lines between end-users and
(HDSL) connection, and a serial port available for an alternate WAN dial-out/dial-in connection. Unlike other HDSL solutions that offer bridging or single-user support, the HDSL Super Router 683 is a full-featured customer premise HDSL router. With 768 KBPS bi-directional data transfer rates, the HDSL Super Router 683 is more than 13 times faster than 56K analog modems.

Telebyte's Swift-IP feature in the HDSL Super Router 683 will save the user money while simplifying set-up and maintenance. Swift-IP integrates Network Address Translation (NAT (Network Address Translation) An IETF standard that allows an organization to present itself to the Internet with far fewer IP addresses than there are nodes on its internal network. ) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (protocol) Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol - (DHCP) A protocol that provides a means to dynamically allocate IP addresses to computers on a local area network. The system administrator assigns a range of IP addresses to DHCP and each client computer on the LAN has its TCP/IP  (DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) Software that automatically assigns temporary IP addresses to client stations logging into an IP network. It eliminates having to manually assign permanent "static" IP addresses. DHCP software runs in servers and routers. ) allow plug & play shared access. With NAT, the HDSL Super Router 683 obtains one static or dynamic IP address from the ISP (1) See in-system programmable.

(2) (Internet Service Provider) An organization that provides access to the Internet. Connection to the user is provided via dial-up, ISDN, cable, DSL and T1/T3 lines.
at dial-up. NAT permits multiple devices on the network to share that IP address. This feature saves up to 80 percent in Internet access costs. Users can still take advantage of an ISP hosted website and email, while enjoying the HDSL Super Router 683's easy set-up and a less expensive ISP account. Swift-IP's integrated DHCP server automatically assigns IP addresses to every device on the network, making installation a snap.

Increased Security & Versatile Management

Network Address Translation (NAT) also provides firewall protection. With NAT, all the IP addresses on your LAN are invisible to the Internet, increasing the security of the network. Non-technical users can manage the HDSL Super Router 683 with a web browser, simplifying management and eliminating cross platform issues.

HDSL Technology Supports High-Bandwidth Applications

The HDSL Super Router 683's ability to provide fast data transfer rates makes it ideal for "last mile" applications. For instance, the HDSL Super Router 683 can be used to connect two LAN's which are connected by an existing copper infrastructure of 12,000 ft. or less. For Internet access, the HDSL Super Router 683 is compatible with PairGain's MM 220 Series central office equipment and can provide Internet access six times faster than ISDN ISDN

The Model 683 HDSL Super Router is supplied in an attractive desk top box whose size is 2.15"H X 8.36"W X 9.1"D (54.6mm X 212.3mm X 231mm) and is available from Telebyte Technology Inc. or any of its worldwide distributors for $1595.
