High Falls releases Pale Bock seasonal.

High Falls Brewing of Rochester, NY, has released JW Dundee's 2006 Pale Bock, a seasonal maibock. The brand was first released last year and won the bronze medal at the 2005 Great American Beer Festival in the Bock Category. It is described as a traditional German Maibock with a deep golden color, malty-sweet aroma and clean hop finish. "Pale Bock has a complex malt character that is balanced with Magnum and Czech Saaz hops," said Brewmaster Dave Schlosser. "We use decoction mashing to give the Pale Bock a malt flavor that is rarely found today." Mr. Schlosser reported that JW Dundee's Pale Bock is brewed with malted two-row barley and is aged longer than traditional lagers in order to produce its signature flavor. Pale Bock registers 6.25% alcohol by volume and 25 IBU. It will be sold on- and off-premise in 12 oz. six-packs. Off-premise it will be part of the Winter/Spring Seasonal rotation in the brewery's JW Dundee Craft Packs. The brand will also be as a limited draught release for select bars and restaurants. Pale Bock is the first of four seasonals slated for release in 2006. Additional styles scheduled include a Hefeweizen, India Pale Ale and Scotch Porter.
