HickoryTech Enterprise Solutions Awarded SCSU Telecommunications Contract; New Telephone System Offers Many Upgrades and a Flexible Platform That Will Grow With the University.

MANKATO, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 2003

) has selected HickoryTech's Enterprise Solutions division to provide the University with a campus-wide telecommunications system. The new system will be implemented in the first half of 2003 and will include a Nortel Option 81 PBX (Private Branch eXchange) An inhouse telephone switching system that interconnects telephone extensions to each other as well as to the outside telephone network (PSTN). , 3800 station ports and a CallPilot voicemail system. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"SCSU had three objectives when choosing a new telecommunications system: reduce the University's overall costs, provide future opportunities for technology development, and ensure that our campus has the most robust and reliable telephone system possible," said Randy Evans and Rubin Stenseng, co-chairs of the SCSU Telephone Work Group. "The solution put forth by HickoryTech meets all of these objectives and more."
