CPE - Customer Premises Equipment , FACPE FACPE Fellow of the American College of Physician Executives , stepped down as CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. and president of Lovelace Health Systems in New Mexico and is taking time off for some rest and relaxation. Hickey's decision to leave coincided with the purchase of Lovelace by Nashville-based Ardent Health Services. Ardent plans to merge Lovelace with St. Joseph Healthcare. Hickey is widely credited with maneuvering Lovelace through the difficulties in Medicare reimbursement changes. He also helped shape a major portion of the health care delivery system during a period in which the industry was caught between rising costs and static or shrinking revenues. "I have had a good run. I'm really proud of what my colleagues and I have been able to accomplish," Hickey says. He will continue to fulfill community obligations he began as CEO at Lovelace and expects to take another health care executive position eventually.
