With Visigenic's ODBC Driver technology embedded into certain HP software products, developers will, for the first time, be provided with seamless connectivity to CA-Ingres, Informix, Oracle and Sybase databases. Together, HP and Visigenic will provide a development environment that incorporates the industry standard technology for data access across multiple platforms including all HP-supported environments.

"Our customers need the flexibility to select their preferred relational database for the HP software products they use," said Tilman Schad, general manager of HP's Software Business Unit. "We look forward to including Visigenic's state-of-the-art database independence technology in upcoming HP software products."

"Our agreement with HP is another major endorsement of ODBC as the industry standard technology for enterprise wide data access in any environment," said Mark Hanson, president of Visigenic Software. "Developers using HP's software products will now have reliable, high-performance access to the leading relational databases. We are delighted to have partnered with HP to make this a reality."
