Heron Tower attracting international occupants.

They come from Italy, Russia, Texas, Ohio and Great Britain. They are the firms that have signed new leases in the past six months at Heron Tower, the award-winning office building at 70 East 55th Street. Negotiated by Paul Glickman, executive managing director, and Elizabeth Houley, both of Galbreath Riverbank on behalf of the ownership, the leases represent more than 30,000 square feet of premier office space with a total aggregate rental value of over $6 million. This latest effort by Galbreath Riverbank brings the total amount of new floors leased in Heron Tower to 6 full-floors in just six months.

Each firm is a small space user that requires an upscale New York presence. The majority of the companies now have their own full-floor identity within Heron Tower.

The new office tenants are: Interlink Group Corporation, a Russian trading company that imports and exports consumer goods, metals and scientific technology (represented by Galbreath Riverbank); Bickel & Brewer, a Texas-based law firm (represented by Sam Clark of Cushman & Wakefield); B.P. America, Inc., a Fortune 500 petroleum firm, based in Cleveland, Ohio (represented by Richard Sykes and Robert Podewils of Sykes International Ltd.); The London Stock Exchange (represented by Marcus Reynor of Weatherall Green & Smith Inc.); Olivetti Management of America, Inc., a computer manufacturer (represented by Steve Strati and Bill Wolf of CB Commercial); and Vocall Communication Corp., a New York City telecommunications firm represent6d by Galbreath Riverbank).

Heron Tower, which was built in 1987 and designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, is the recipient of several awards, including the Operating Office Building of the Year for 1992-93 by the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) New York, the 1989 Building Stone Institute Award for Design Excellence and the 1988 New York State AIA Design Award.

The building is more than 90 percent leased.
