Alan L. Stein, Rockefeller Center vice president of marketing, said "The new Herman's Sporting Goods store is a welcome addition to Rockefeller Center. Together with such new arrivals as NBC's "Today Show. studio and the Fashion Cafe, the new store promises to enhance Rockefeller Plaza's reputation as one of the city's most dynamic public spaces."

The lease transaction was negotiated on behalf of the landlord, Rockefeller Center Management Company, by Kate D. Coburn, vice president, and Edward J. Reilly, assistant vice president, and for Herman's, by Michael Worrall, senior vice president.

Herman's currently has seven stores in Manhattan and plans to open an eighth on the northeast corner of 86th Street and Lexington Avenue - its first on the Upper East Side - in late May.
